Mikayla Batschi

Owner, Adult Vocal Instructor

Mikayla began her vocal training at the age of 8, with a diverse foundation in classical, opera, and musical theater, covering both legit and belt/mix styles. Early in her career, she trained under respected instructors Debra and Barry Bounous, Jim Wilcock, Valaura Arnold, and Arden Hopkin. Mikayla currently studies under Rob Moffat and Andrew Byrne. Her extensive performance background includes leading roles in musical theater and opera, such as La Carlotta in Phantom of the Opera, Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, Mrs. Potts and the Wardrobe in Beauty and the Beast, the Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute, and Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte.

Mikayla holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Family Studies from Brigham Young University, which she received in April 2018. In 2019, she founded Batschi Vocals, where she now teaches full-time. She is also Level 1 Certified in the Singing Athlete Methodology and is in the process of obtaining her IVA Teacher Certification.

A key aspect of Mikayla's success as a vocal instructor lies in her unique blend of music and mental health education. Drawing from her background in both fields, she takes an integrative approach to singing—helping students not only develop their voices but also heal emotionally through the process of music. This holistic approach has led to significant progress for her students, both in their vocal abilities and their personal growth.

Mikayla has also contributed her talents to the performing arts community, having worked as a vocal instructor at ACT Performing Arts Academy, and music directed for various theater groups, including Alpine Community Theater, Lamplight Theater Company, Draper Arts Council, and Draper Historic Theater.

Outside of music, Mikayla is a passionate artist, enjoying drawing, sewing, and organizing in her spare time. She is married to Alex and is the proud mother of three sons.
